Learning Disability Assessment
|
Many talented individuals are able to meet their academic and career goals only with appropriate accommodations and interventions adapted to their unique situation. At Pacific Psychological Associates, we conduct assessments with children, adolescents and adults. We address client needs in the following situations:
· K Through 12: Individualized Assessments for Classroom Accommodation, Documentation for Individual Education Plan (IEP), and Educational Assistance
· Post-Secondary College and University Educational Accommodation: Modification of Curriculum Requirements and Academic Examinations
· Graduate-Level: School Disability Assessment and Examination Accommodation
Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments (ADAA) went into effect on January 1, 2009. The amendments revise the criteria for education accommodation when a learning disability is present, and further establish the standards for student eligibility under Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act. To conform to the accommodation criteria we typically administer the mandated “core battery” of psychometric tests, plus additional testing formats tailored to the individual to allow a thorough assessment of his or her unique accommodation needs.
Evaluation can address any and all of the following:
· Reading Disorders · Attention Deficit Disorders · Disorders of Written Expression and Dyslexia · Mathematics Disorders · Processing Deficits · Executive Functioning Syndrome · Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities · Severely Emotionally Disturbed Educational Classification · Memory Deficits · Foreign Language Acquisition Deficits
