The staff at PPA has conducted several thousand psychological evaluations. Our testing work has included learning disability testing, neuropsychological assessment, career assessment, and forensic consultation.
Cognitive and Intelligence Testing
We conduct individualized IQ and academic achievement testing for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Testing includes administration of the Wechsler scales, academic batteries such as the Woodcock-Johnson-III, and the Nelson-Denny Reading test.
Neuropsychological Evaluation
Specialized testing is provided to evaluate a range of neuropsychological problems, including post-concussion syndrome, head injury, post stroke rehabilitation, and evaluation of degenerative neurological conditions. We can administer neuropsychological batteries - such as the Halstead-Reitan System and the Luria Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery – as well as specialized tests for memory, frontal lobe disorders, and assessment of auditory processing disorders.
Forensic Consultation
Dr. Dunbar has conducted evaluations for claimants in employment law and medical malpractice cases. A particular area of emphasis has involved harassment and race/ethnic conflict in institutional settings. Dr. Sullaway and Dr. Dunbar have also conducted numerous evaluations for litigation concerning cleric sexual molestation claims.
Career Assessment and Consultation
We provide individualized consultation and evaluation of career planning and implementation. Individualized testing and career planning services are appropriate for school-to-work problems, mid-career change, and persons who have been impacted by lay-off and organizational downsizing.
Vocational Rehabilitation
We have conducted several hundred evaluations concerning occupational disability and employment of handicapped individuals. Testing includes assessment of work aptitudes, interests, and capacity for vocational rehabilitation.
Learning Disability Assessment
We provide evaluation for educational accommodation at the secondary and university level. We have worked with applicants for SAT, GRE, LSAT, and MEDCAT testing accommodation. Testing may include TOVA format evaluation of ADHD and processing deficits. We also conduct evaluations for non-verbal learning disabilities (NLD) and executive dysfunction syndrome.
